MY GAS gage is crazy Need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!?

i have a 94 ford explorer and my gas gage works when my car is off but not when my car is on........... have no clue y if u can help i would grately appreciate it!!!!!!!! & my oil gage dont work either but everything else on the dash worked i checked fuses and all work i just dont kno what else to check........ THANKs

Check the ground connection on your gages.

dont replace the sending unit in the tank as some may say... this sounds like a gauge cluster problem.. u may need a new cluster..

cluster= the thing that the gauges are in...
