Add a little bit salt in the tank.

Do a 40%-50% water change.

This can be to several things, Ick, swim bladder, amonia poisoning, gill flukes, or fin rot.

This happened to my fish a few weeks ago. Unfortunatly she did not make it.

If your fish appears to have little white dots, like salt its ick, this can be treated if caught in time with simple drops that can be purchased.

If it is fin rot, also treatable, IF caught in time. Thats what my fish had and i happened to be on vacation for about a month and returned to find this.

If it is swim bladder, shell appear poofy and wont come to the surface for food. Feeding her, or him, a shelled pea that was cooked, then squished can cure this

Is it eating and swimming as normal? My fishy had an infection on one of its flippers and the pet place told me to change the water and reduce the current in the water tank. That one healed. The other one that was floating like that had a bladder infection and apparently they cannot swim normally with that - again it was the water I had to change.

Hope it gets better.

it should, make sure the water is clean and put fair amounts of food for the fish

Maybe its dead, poke it or sumtin lol, i had a gold fish that swam upside down.

its got swim bladder problems probably. Get some medication from the pet shop. gd luck =]

Look that up on google and look for possible treatment options,

No cleaning the tank will not do anything and never use and chemicals, water and a never before used brush.

It's probably just dying because it's old. Fish suck anyway go buy a dog.
