My girlfriend is here in the US on a work VISA. THing is that when we go on vacation our travel is limited to the United States since she can't leave the USA without having issues coming back in. We like going to tropical places in December and we've been going to Hawaii the last 5 years. We would like to try something new like the Caribbean. She can travel freely within the United States with no problems but can't leave the country. Can we go to the US Virgin Islands with out any problems?

  1. Absolutely, you can go to the U.S. Virgin Islands...what a perfect idea!  They are U.S. terriories, so it is just like traveling to another state...no problem.  Have a great time.

  2. Basically, a visa is only one time gig. It lets you enter the country only once during its duration. If you leave and you'd like to come back, you have to apply for a new visa. It might be a little different with a work visa; there are many varieties. I personally know a couple who had been here on a work visa and traveled freely, whether taking Mexican vacation or traveling back home to Europe throughout their stay in US. Please refer to www.USCIS.gov for more details or call 1 800 number that's listed on the mentioned site. I am sure, they will address your concerns in a nicely manner. Good luck!
