So i have a very light natural blonde, and for the first time i wanted to try something new. So i died my hair a medium brown, and my hair turned out RED/ORANGE, its HORRIBLE. Nothing i expected. I cant afford right now to visit the Salon, so please anything i can do?

I just want to get rid of the red, because i was aiming for medium brown, and some how got this mess, and i mean it looks ba-had.

I was thinking, maybe dying it again medium brown, and maybe that would cancel out the red? Or not?

PLEASE?!

This is a REPOST, where is everyone? haha.

  1. try dieing it dark brown that is the only good way of getting rid of it

    good luck

or keep trying to wash it out

  2. wash your hair as much as possible in the next few days./As well as that you should use shampoo tht enhances your natural blonde.

Dying your hair again might work, but personally i wouldnt risk it, only it could just make it worse, and its meant to be permanent

  3. Oops!! The only thing i can think for you to do is to buy some do-it-yourself stuff and re die it? Hopefully it will cool down the ORANGE

Hope it helps, good luck! x

  4. try picking up a dye at a dollar store or a beauty shop. get a shade darker than you wanted. You need something darker to cover up the red, you could also try a Burgundy. did u dye it yourself the first time or get it dont at a salon. if you got it at a salon you can go complain and ask them to redye it since they messed up, it own cost you a dime.

  5. Well just go get a darker brown than you got so it will take out that hint of reddish orange :]. I dyed my hair blonde once and wanted to turn it back to brown and when I dyed it and washed & dried it it was gray! I WAS LIKE OMG! but i tried a darker brown and it turned out pretty good! Just try that. or you can get a hair stripper. But those dont tend to work either.

  6. depends. On the box, for how long does it say it's gonna last? Some are permanent, some are for 2 months... you gotta check it now.

My best friend also had light brown hair, and she wanted it darker so she dyed it with a product that says "to get dark brown hair" and it got lighter. so i guess it doesn't always work!

Best to do is to take lots and lots of shampoos, so the color goes away, or try to dye it again =/ with a diff product.

for your case, i'd start with taking like 2 shampoos a day during a week, see if it makes a difference.

  7. Wash your hair with DAWN, usually takes about 5 washings.  This is extremely drying, so condition really well when you're done.  If you can afford it, go back to the drug store and get a brass-free rinse, it might help.  You should really go to a pro if changing your hair more than 2 tones different, especially if you're going darker.  If all these things don't work, then just pretend you did it on purpose, hold your head up high and call yourself EDGY.  Good luck.

  8. oh dear... that is why i just won't touch my blonde hair. too scared!

i think it's best just to leave your hair alone now and in 6 weeks time re-color it.  hair color is harsh on the hair and after 6 wks the color should start to fade.

    best of luck.

my sister had the same problem!!! she left her hair alone for 6 wks and then actually went back to a blonde color.
