MY HP pavilion zt 1000 series just crashed

Question

Hi can some one help me my Laptop i believe has crashed. It turns on and its unable to load the operating system. when the windows xp attempts to loads up it turns off and reboots itself. I have attempted to load a new windows xp or even vista and its unable to load a blue screen comes on and it states STOP with numbers following. What can i do... Is there anyway i can recover my documents. I dont have any back up cd or recovery disk. Can someone help
