MY MALE COCKATIEL LAYED AN EGG...WTF?!

i was cleaning out my male cockatiels cage today when i saw a white thing, i picked it up and it was an EGG. when we bought it the vet said it was male..so can male cockatiels lay eggs, without interacting with another bird?

for those who wanna know..it sadly cracked so the baby bird has died..

but im just wondering how the h**l a male bird layed an egg...

lol he didnt lay an egg your cockatiel is a female and your vet is either a liar or doesnt know anything about birds :) i would suggest finding a new vet.

Surprise your male bird is a female. And no baby bird died if the egg was not fertile so dont worry about that.
