  1. I believe that everything will be o.k., but call your vet in the morning to be sure! These things happen. Don't be too hard on yourself! Think about clipping your birds wings...talk to your vet! They can teach you how to do it yourself! It will keep your birds from flying into windows, fans, hot kitchen pans etc.. Best of luck! kjl

  2. If it is not bleeding, and he seems to be ok (active, going about his regular business) I would suggest you book him into the vet for the following day.

The vet may put him on antibiotics if it did bleed, just to be on the safe side. He will also check the beak for any damage, but as long as you see him eating and drinking he should be fine overnight.

Watch him when he thinks you're not there or not looking, and if he puffs up and half closes his eyes when he's 'off guard' then that probably means he's in pain that he doesn't want anyone to know about.

Also inspect his nostrils and make sure they are clear and that there is no pieces of skin covering them.

I wouldn't do anything to the cere unless it looks really bad or really raw. In that case if you do choose to put something on it before seeing the vet, avoid using oily preparations as this can get stuck to the feathers and stay there forever, affecting the feathers insulating properties.

The best preparation you can put on (if you have it at home) is diluted Betadine, or a liquid antiseptic (diluted to 10% antiseptic, 90% water.)  Otherwise a very carefully applied cream.

Hope this is a help and best of luck!

  3. if it is bleeding i would take it to the vet. The reason you parakeet flew into the window is because he thought it was open. So, to prevent this from happening i would go to a pet shop that will trim you bird's wings so it won't fly and hurt himself!!

    i hope this helps!

  4. iHello

i recomend tacking him to an avian vet, yes there is such thing, my budgie has a hole in  his beak litterally, dw he has special sterolisers and things.

im sure he will be fine, it depends on how sereous it is, if not to bad keep hm home untill it might get better, if theres no sign of inprovment take him to an avian vet.

next time close windows with blinds, make sure theres no spaces the bird can fal down into, please do this because 1 day i forgot to do this and my beloved Budgie flew into a window, snapped its neck and died, i cryed for days... anyway...

    hopeihelpedxoxo
