OK I POSTED THIS AND IM HAVING A REAL HARD TIOME FIGURING THIS OUT I TRIED THE FOLLOWING FROM A PREVIOUS HELPER:

"right click on my computer and hit manage then click on Disk Management at the bottom of that window right hand corner it will show you all drives listed even if you don't see it in my computer u should see your external drive right click on it and give it a drive letter" I TRIED IT AND MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE IS NOT LISTED THERE AT ALL... IT TURNS ON AND WORKS BUT JUST NOT IN MY PC.. IT DOES WORK IN MY LAPTOP.. BUT WANTED TO GET MY FILES FROM PC TO EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? I HAD A DIFERENT ONE BEFORE CONNECTED TO THIS PC THAT WORKED FINE.. ANY SETTINGS I SHOULD TRY CHANGING?

  1. your external hard drive might of died yes extrernal hard drives can die

  2. I suggest you visit the hard drive manufacturer's website for support details.  They will have a FAQ or support information there related to your problem.  I don't have enough information to even begin assisting you with your question.
