  1. Get a covered litter box with a filter.  Make sure you scoop the box every day and change the litter every 2 weeks. Your kitty doesn't need all those baths.  Frequent bathing will dry his skin. Unless he gets into something sticky or toxic, just let him clean himself. When you get a new roomie, make sure he's a cat person.

  2. make sure you clean the litter box every day and change litter once a week.  i don't know why you are giving the cat a bath.  they are very clean animals and should not be bathed unless infested with fleas or there is some other problem.  other than that, the only thing i can think of is some people just love to whine.  good luck to you.

  3. So many brands of litter so little time!

You should try Scoop Away. I tried almost everything and now i swear by Scoop Away ( i don't get paid to say that. LOL )

A box of baking soda by the litter box will do the trick as well. If you have a boy get him fixed ASAP, before he discovers the joy of spraying! That is a smell you do not need in your life!

P.S. your roommate will always complain if he is not an animal lover, they are h**l on us cat lovers.

Good luck and remember Scoop Away!

  4. cats dont smell their shitbox does though lol

clean it out every time it uses it, feed the cat dried food so end result stinks less,  and buy a lidded one, rinse it all out once a week with safe detergent, use litter freshener  crystals for cats...and tell moany room mate to leave as cats better company :-)

  5. Maybe you need to clean the  litter box more often.

  6. I think your roommate is just complaining to complain.  There are plenty of cat lovers out there, find one for a roommate!

By the way, bathing a cat regularly is like you washing your hair too often....it can strip them of their natural protective oils.  Cats are self-cleaning so unless she's rolled in something icky, don't do it.

  7. the pet store has products to cover up cat smells that may help out.

  8. Well, first of all, did your room-mate agree to you bringing a cat into the home you share?  If not, then that may be the actual issue.

Is he claiming the cat stinks or is it the litter he's complaining about?  If it's the cat, well, they normally don't "stink" unless they are gassy and unless they get covered in something, they don't need to get bathed.  If it's the litter, then use the Arm and Hammer scoop-able unscented kind and clean it twice a day.  That stuff is amazing!

  9. awhile ago, I read about a product called FridgeIT odor absorbers that worked very well on litter box.  I've had a problem with my cats, so I gave it a try and it worked better than any litter that I've tried.  So, now all I do is clip a couple of those odor absorbers on litter box and smells gone.   Can get it at innofresh.com

  10. Keep the litter box clean.  Scoop it at least 2 times a day, add more litter as needed. Feeding the cat table food and or cheap cat food will cause its f***s to have a stronger oder.  I feed mine science diet, it cost more but it will actually cost the same as the cheap stuff because you feed less food.  Science diet is higher in calories.  The only cat litter I found that works is Fresh Step scoop-able litter. I have tried different brands but it just doesn't work.  I have 5 house cats and don't have any complaints about smell.  Get some spray for eliminating cat urine smell for accidents, (some times my cat misses).  Wash the cat box out once a month and refill with clean litter.

  11. i use the Breeze cat litter system. look into it. it costs $30 for the litter box, and it keeps smell and clean-up to a minimum. i love it!
