  1. Get someone to check it out to make sure it is safe and has no diseases, then go to the pet store and ask them if they have any habitats or accessories. For food you would have to research it on google. They normally live near water, so maybe that will help. For right now until you get the toad checked out don't let your kid touch it. I would hate for him to get sick. My friend's son actually used to have a wild toad, so deffinately get it checked out and I think they might live in fish tanks, but if they do, make sure to get a good filter. I wish you the best of luck.

  2. No.  Explain to your son that a wild toad is meant to live in the wild.  If he wants a pet, take him to an animal shelter or pet shop.

  3. I found the following information in the site :

http://www.ehow.com/how_13083_care-toads...  if you have any questions visit it, though I don't think you need to.

Step1  -House your toad in a fish tank.

Step2 - Keep about 2 to 4 inches of water on the bottom of the tank.

Step3 - Remember to only use de-chlorinated water that has been left out for 24 hours or more before adding to the tank.

Step4 - Add some rocks so they have some land on which to stay.

Step5 - Provide hollow logs in which the toads can hide.

Step6 - Keep the tank covered so they won't escape.

Step7 - Buy crickets to feed your toads.

Step8 - Decide if you prefer to provide a full-week's supply in the tank at one time or feed them more frequently.

You should warn you son that toads shouldn't be kept at home they're not meant to. Also they'll became bigger and bigger and some day they'll be difficult to take care at home.

  4. i want to meet your son, he sounds brilliant.

  5. It's unlikely the toad is suitable as a pet. They are hard to keep and generally die soon.

Where do you live and what type of toad is it,

In Ireland frogs are endangered and it's illegal to kill one ore remove it from a breeding ground.

Take your son to where he found it explain the toad has to finish his journey home and maybe he'll come back some day

  6. You should teach your child that keeping wild animals is not the correct thing to do.  Most animals react badly when kept in captivity.  Unless injured, he should be kind to the little toadie and let it go back to his home where it belongs.

  7. IT is good that he like and want toad

You must buy or take a toad with their cage.

and gave them advice not touch the toad.

  8. If this toad is a native wild toad..it should be returned to the wild, it could possibly even be an endangered species in which case it would be illegal to keep.  If it is a non-native/invasive to your area, it would actually be doing the ecosystem a favor by him keeping it.  ID the frog and you will have your answer.

  9. Toads in captivity do not do well ! Most likely, it will die within a week !!!

  10. Let the poor thing go. How would you liked to be taken from your home and locked up in a little cage?

The toad is wild, should be running free with all his toad buddies.
