  1. buy the ABC cereal and when he eat you ask him the letter or to spell his name using thoes letters

  2. make it funnjy and talk in funny voices!

  3. That's normal for his age. Now, go spend some time on your own spelling and grammar so you can teach him past kindergarten.

  4. ok first of all plz donbt write in caps, yahoo answers consideres it rude and u can get banned. srry im just trying 2 look out 4 u. but 4 ur son try making it into a game, make it a runny song using puppets or dance and make him laugh. thjagts what i do with thde kid i babysit it works really well hope this helps! (-:

  5. make him watch a video on the abc's thts wht my mom did for me.

  6. he's only 2. they don't have the best attention span anyway just give him time. by the time he's in preschool i'm sure he'll learn them. my cousins are 4 and 5 now and for forever they'd start at the begining and then skip to lmnop! but now they know them.

  7. Books-there are plenty out there that either focus on one letter per book or they focus on special things for each letter

Puzzles-wooden ones sold at Target, Walmart and even Meijer are great. That is how my daughter learned her alphabet and numbers

Having objects and the letters and having them match the sound the object starts with to the letter

Teaching them the sound of the letters actually makes more sense because really do you read by saying the names of each of the letters? They will pick up on the names of the letters as well. But expose them to the letter sounds and names.

If it matters I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and have taught preschoolers.

    Hope that helps

  8. Leave him alone -  he will learn at his own pace.    Why do people do this? They overload kids too early and then wonder why they have problems in school.    If you child is not developmentally disabled (and in need of the extra attention) LEAVE HIM ALONE.

  9. dont wright in caps thats rude, i guess thats why you only lower cased 3 letters since yahoo doesnt let you do that anyways

  10. Don't push him.  If he's not interested, he's not interested and that's OK.  Pushing children into academic work early works for some kids and makes others hate it before they're even ready to start.  Relax.  He'll be fine.

Rather than pushing him to learn his alphabet, play with him the games he likes to play; build with him, play with playdough, draw, paint, whatever he likes to do.  Let him know that you can spend time together and he can enjoy it.  That way, later on, you can try the abc's again and you'll have set up the understanding that you can play together and enjoy things.  Then it becomes a game just like the other things rather than 'learning time'.

Enjoy him while he's 2 yrs and 4 months.  There's plenty of time for academic work in the years to come.  Then you'll be wishing that you could just play together and enjoy each other's company.  So get in while you can.

  11. Does he like to read books.Well if so git him an abc book and tell him to tell u what letter it is and you would be surprised what he says and does..I did that with my daughter and she i 2 snd knows her letters and her numbers. Good luck it takes time don't give up..

  12. when my daughter was little i bought a big chalk board and started with drawing and then letters and numbers. by the time she was 5 she could even read. I spend a couple hours with her on the chalk board and a couple hours reading to her every day.

  13. u should let him learn lil by lil every kid startz differently n well if he learns them at a late age it ok because albert einstein also did porly u got 2 let him learn it dont force him 2 learn it help him wit it

  14. I used elmo videos and other sing alongs with my son and he picked up on it. Just an idea ...

  15. Just sing it to him and with him when he is interested in it and don't force it, one day he will suprise you and sing the whole song alone.

  16. I work at a daycare in the 2-3 years old room as a assistant teacher  so i might be able to help. We taught out children how to learn them by for each letter have them make something that letter so for like D they dotted the letter D that we cut out for them. Z we did a zebra, H was a house, C was cotton balls, I was ice cream, B was a bear, E was an elephant, M was a mouse, P was a pig, Q was a queen, R was a rabbit, S was a snake, W was a walrus, and Y was a yo-yo. I cant remember what the rest of them were but once the whole alphabet was finished he hung them up in order in the classroom. The children now look at it and recite them in order.

  17. give him a treat and treat him like a dog and to entertain yourself teach him to roll over and bark and stuff like that abc's are for special kids in the fourth grade
