MY Space & Computer Wizards....?

Question

My daughter has my space and her friends send her messages saying her photo is on these sites:

crimsonopia .com

wayify .com

wayium .com

riffphoto .com

Can someone explain to me, Is this a prank?

How do they know he photos are on these sites?

Does this mean your my space was hacked?

Anyone with knowledge of these tricks please let me know~

those are called phishing sites - they are tricks to try and steal peoples' accounts - if your daughter believed those messages about her picture being on that site and entered her login information, then her page will be hacked.... just like the other people who fell for it - namely, the people who are sending her those messages - those people arent actually sending her those messages, spammers who have taken over her account are the ones sending the message

ha ha.

this happens when someone "phishes" one of her friend's accounts.

its when someone creates a fake myspace sign in, the person puts in all their information, then that hacker has the information to go put comments on their friend's pages and send random messages to their friends.

i get those messages too sometimes..all you do is tell er to tell her friend to change her password. thats what i do..im like hey change your password someone phished you. lol

Nope - it's possibly spam just to get traffic to those sites.

I would just ignore it.

And no, it doesn't take a "hack" to get someone else's picture on the Internet and then pose as them.  All it takes is a simple copy-pasting of the image.
