MY XBOX 360 GOT STOLEN

Question

MY XBOX 360 WAS NOT WORKING AND I READ AN AD FOR THIS GUY WHO SAID HE WILL FIX THE XBOX 360 CHEAP.

HE CAME TO MY HOUSE TO PICK UP THE XBOX 360 AND AFTER THAT HE CALLED ME 3 TIMES TO SAY HE WILL BRING THE XBOX 360 BUT HE NEVER CAME AND NOW HE IS NOT PICKING UP HIS PHONE NOR IS HE REPLYING TO MY EMAILS.

SO MY QUESTION IS IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN GET MY XBOX 360 BACK BY INVOLVING THE POLICE?

I HAVE HIS CELL PHONE NUMBER AND HIS EMAIL ADDRESS AND I ALSO HAVE THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE XBOX 360.

Report him through his email and phone number. They can track is IP address from his email and find his location or do it with his phone.

a) you didn't get a contract for this right?

b) to get a police report you need all his info

c) to get your item or the value back if he the police are unable to make a report involves going to court, where you need all his info again

it is good you have your serial # but with our all his info you are s/o/l

I would contact the police and make a report.its then up to them to investigate.

Report to the police (311 or your nearest police station) and make a police report with all the info you've got, maybe even the ad.  

Contact the people who manage the ads (newspaper, website, etc.) and see if you can get any info about the person from there.

Contact Microsoft.  If you have your serial # registered, then Microsoft will be able to help you out somehow, either by tracking it, helping the authorities, etc.

NEVER do anything like that again, unless you know the person.  Besides voiding the warranty, the item (in this case Xbox) will be at risk.  Using reputable companies may be more costly, but your stuff is safe.
