MY jaw hurts, but why???

While i was eating foods with sugar and salt tonight, and laughed while eating these foods, i got got terrible knoting pain in my jaw. It only happens while im eating foods with sugar or salt and laughing.

I don't know why but it happens to me too, and it's normal because I know a ton of other people who have expieinced the same thing.  Ususally sour foods.  My guess is that there are sensative nerves in that area, and when our jaws are open, they are able to set them off.

well one possibility is that you have TMJ i have it and im really not to sure on what it is but.. you no you have it if you open and close your mouth and theres a clicking sound. its that your jaw is rubbing tother and then causing it to hurt.

Do you use whitening toothpaste?  I was experiencing a lot of pain until my dentist told me that whitening toothpaste could be the cause of it.  I switched to sensitive toothpaste and haven't had a problem since!
