My computer's internet used to work fine, until now. My computer stopped getting a Ip,address,Subnet mask, or a default gateway. I called my internet Provider, which is AT&T.They said it was a connection problem between them and my computer or something(don't remember what they actully said). I tried typing ipconfig to find out my Ip Adress. It was a utter failure. It said something about Unavailable to find my IP address.AT&T also said that they can fix it for $69! Thats just to expensive. Anyone that can help me? I'm in a tight spot wether to get it fixed for $69 or get a solution from any of you guys! HELP PLEASE!

  1. From device manager check your network card is working if it is then move to another ISP

  2. check your router, it have warranty maybe, good luck, hope your router still under warranty

  3. I had the same problem about 2 months back. Except they wanted to charge me 169 bucks for them to help me. I said some choice words to them and hung up.

The problem is that your Modem is most likely shot. you probably have to go out and buy this modem: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?... ....its the only one that works for AT&T...believe me i tried to go out and buy two diff. brands of modems, a motorola and a Fast Tech and they both didnt comply with my ISP....

  4. First, check your LAN settings and make sure that your modem is connected straight to your computer and not to any other device like router, hub, switch or etc. Ok, try this troubleshooting steps..

1.go to your control panel>>sytem>>device manager>>network adapter>>press the (+) sign beside network adapter there should be a sub menu below w/c will display a list of network adapter thats installed on your computer but your looking for something like "Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection" but this is just an example and then make sure that there is no "X" mark on it and if it has an "X" mark your just have to right click on it and hit enabled.

    2. go to network connections and then look for LAN or high speed internet and make sure its enabled and if not just right click on it hit enabled.

    3. if its still not working just reset your dsl modem and hold it down for 15 sec. remember that the reset buttong is a little tiny hole found at the back or at the bottom of the dsl modem.

  5. r8 click on my computer > manage > devic manager and check ur network adapter is working fine then try to manually type the ip address - and the default gateway by clicking on the 2 windows at the start bar . then choosing prperties then internet protocol (tcp/ip) then  manually add them... or ican give u 69 $ :D:D

  6. Try running their "Self Support Tool" which should be on the CD that comes with a modem.

Also. try getting into the modem from IE using the hardwired IP address for it and check your settings.

Often, just setting up the whole thing again from the beginning will solve this. You may need the code number on the label stuck to the bottom of the modem unit.  If your account is paid up, AT&T shouild be willing to talk you through this on the phone.

  7. are you running ccleaner?
