MY outdoor cat has been throwing up lately?

My cat is 4 yrs old (male) and has always been an outdoor cat. I know he eats lots of animals and bugs outside but over the last week he has thrown up several times. The last 3 days he has gagged many times but not thrown up.

The VET is very expensive but if you think I must go, no questions asked, I will.

Have you ever experienced this before?

Is there anything I should do? Give him?

Should I wait it out? Its been almost a week.

thank you for any advice!!

  1. |WELL TAKE HIMM INSIDE|its cause hes beeen also eatinq the qrass u qot to keep him inside and let him qet some normal food and fresh water in his system to flush him out||yupp i had this problem|

  2. It is probably because he is eating some type of plant that is not healthy for him. . .my cat eats plants in my house and he throws up too. So I would say to try to keep your cat inside from now on. If that doesn't help then take him to the vet. . . but don't worry, I'm sure he'll be fine.

  3. make sure he is getting lots of water and in a few more days if he is still doing it i would take him to the vet

  4. yea my cat does that too,

    he's an indoor cat and he's 6.

but sometimes its the random stuff i leave around.

like for example chocolate, thats poisonous to a cat

and so is garlic and onion,

so be careful what u leave laying out

  5. He may have something caught in his throat or he may be just eating grass which seems to make cats vomit

  6. It sounds gross, but you might want to look at the vomit. My cats often throw up stuff, but for the most part, it's rats, mice, shrews, etc. that they have eaten, and didn't agree with. Another possibility is that he has hairballs and is gagging for that reason. I would wait a few more days and see if you can find out if it is something he is eating or if it might be a hairball.

Sometimes my cats can eat a mouse and be fine with it, and other times they throw it up. It isn't always recognizable at first unless you take a closer look.

    Good luck!

  7. DEFFINITELY take him to the vet. I'd rather be safe & pay a lot of $ to have my cat safe & sound, than save a few bucks just to spend it on burial costs.

go take him to the vet. if it were just something he ate, he'd be fine by now. if it's been a week, that's really not good...
