He plays in a better league than Brian O'Driscoll and plays agianst tougher opponents as well. He plays in the best team in the world (my kiwi team) and stands out each game, whereas Brian O'Driscoll only stands out because he's playing in an average Ireland team, who's only tactic is to kick it to the corner and try and steal the ball. England are just rubbish anyway as their structure and ball skills are non existant. Brian Ashton will improve that but not much else. Allblacks for the World Cup!!! I don't care about our previous records in World Cup year. That was then this is now Boys and Girls. The William Webb Ellis is coming back to Wellington where it belongs!

  1. He's good no doubt, but he has not had a long enough international career yet to be placed on such a pedestal. The flavor of Umanga is still fresh. Now that was a great All Black center.

Watch out bro overconfidence lead to your demise in the 95 world cup. Remember? Oh yeah you would probably say that it was the famous "Suzie" who stole the trophy from you with her poisoning act.

  2. That's nice. Nobody particularly cares.

  3. Nope, sorry.

I'm a Kiwi, a wellingtonian and a massive rugby fan.

But you're so wrong you couldn't be wronger on the wrongest day of your life with an electrified Wronging machine.

Nonu, while good don't get me wrong  - hes a talented and capable player isn't anywhere near as good a player as Brian O'Driscoll is.

O'Driscoll has the full game & he's a great leader...

Nonu is a good utility back, but he's not as good as the other players in those positions (snd 5, centre, wing, full-back) in the ABs...

Sorry Ma'a, I think your ace - but Brian is Acer :)

  4. Nonu? PLEASE!!!

He's the weak link in an otherwise solid backline, and is targeted as such on a regular basis.

So where is the question? What you've written is a statement......

  5. And he's also wanting a move to the toughest League in the world The NRL....Yes my dear Union loving friends that's RUGBY LEAGUE!!

  6. Thankyou for sharing your opinion with us.

Ma'a Nonu is about as good a player as Will Carling ever was and Graham Henry has Mauger, Muliaina and Conrad to choose from long before he would ever seriously consider putting that chubby little battering ram anywhere near a creative backline.

Ma'a Nonu will be playing Rugby League in Australia before you can say "how the h**l did France manage to win the World Cup when we're supposedly the greatest team of all time?"

  7. Brian O'Driscoll is RUGBY!!!!!!!! That other guy is ok, but he's no O'Driscoll. Go Ireland!!!!

  8. Nonu can only wish he is ever as good as O'Driscoll.,  It is nothing to stand out in a very good and dominating team, but to stand out against all odds, when your team is not dominating, does not lie in everybody's pants.

O'Driscoll is the kind of player you only find once every second or third decade.  Enjoy the privelage of seeing him play.

As for Nonu, he better wishes O'Driscoll is having a really bad day when All Blacks play Ireland or he might just be the one everybody blaims when the All Blacks does not win the World Cup.

Finally:  We as rugby fans are very privilaged to watch so many tallented players play rugby.

  9. except.....

    NO!!!! because O'Driscoll can:

    Kick like a 10,

Tackle, Rook, turnover the ball and win penaltys like a flanker,

crash the ball or beat players depending on the situation,

wheras nonu is simply a battering ram that isnt completely unskillful, Umaga 2 years ago was better than he is now.

oh and O'Driscoll is a leader in that he is captain whereas Nonu is not

  10. the all blacks have not been  world cup final in 10 /15 years .Ireland has been in the quther final for the last 2 world cup.Ma'a Nonu is a girl compared to Brian o' Driscoll .

  11. This doesn't really seem to be a question...

  12. He is not the best. And besides being a great all around rugby player, O'Driscoll leads by example. Ireland is a pretty good side.I watch alot of rugby in NY and saw quite a few ANZ games, Currie cup and both Heineken and Magners league. the ANZ may and only may have the best few teams but the bottom part of that league is not good. I Think if you take a side from Leinster/Munster/LLanelli/Leicester/Sale...  to name 6 ...they could play with everyone from ANZ., INCLUDING THE 'CANES

And if the Kiwis win the WRC next year, I'll fly down and have a few at Shed 5 with you or at the Shepherd Arms with my Golden Oldie teammates EJ and Greg ! LOL

  13. Wishing something doesn't make it so.

Ignorance of your opponents and a smug attitude got you far last time.

At least the AB's know not to choke on wallaby anymore.

But I don't think they'll be able to stomach frogs legs any better.

Nonu is ONE of the best at what he does, a mid-field crasher and basher. So keep him for all the games, that way your opponents won't have to out-guess you. Makes things simple, like the way you view rugby.

  14. kia ora

    yeah thanks, we know

    and was that a question

    i think not

  15. Big Singy

I'm a very big All Black Supporter, but i dont agree with you. O'Driscoll is a better player than Nonu. O'Driscoll has been around the block a few times while Nonu is fairly new on the international sceen and still needs to learn the tricks.

Graham Henry has told quite a few reporters that he believes that Nonu can became one of the best centers in world rugby. But until that happens O'Driscoll will be better.

As a matter of interest the world rugby team for 2006 was announced last week and the center pair was O'Driscoll & Darcy.

  16. NO NO no NO no.

Mark Gasnier is the greatest centre in the world.

League or Union ,  Gasnier would rip any defence to pieces.
