Maarek and Graham Lee team up to land the victory in the Betfred Mobile Lotto Chipchase Stakes
Trainer David Peter Nagle is confident that his charge, Maarek, will be able to take on the testing track at Newcastle in the Group 3 Betfred Mobile Lotto Chipchase Stakes, which covers a distance of six furlongs.
Foaled by mare, Ruby Rocket, the gelding has a chance to claim the victory in this race.
The son of Pivotal competed in the Wokingham Stakes (Heritage Handicap) at Royal Ascot over the same distance.
Under rider, Joseph O'Brien, he finished in sixth place, and it was closer than it seems, as he lost the victory by 2 ¼ lengths to the David Marnane trained, Dandy Boy.
The trainer is pleased with his current form, and stated that the bay gelding is in good shape. He commented that the ground in Ascot did not work in his favour as he commented:
"The ground went against us in the Wokingham. It dried out to be good ground. I don't think it will be good at Newcastle. Hopefully it will go ahead and he will love the ground.”
The Lisbunny Syndicate owned runner claimed two victories this season, and he will be aiming to take the third one in the Chipchase Stakes, as he is set to break from post number 7, under rider, Graham Lee.
The five-year-old runner is in good hands with Graham Lee, who recently notched two incredible victories at the Beverley racecourse on 26th June, 2012, where he guided Just Lille and Pintrada to victory.
Just Lille, trained by Ann Duffield, justified her status as race favourite, and defeated the Richard Fahey trained, Halla San, by 4 lengths in the St. John Ambulance Claiming Stakes. over 1 mile and 4 furlongs.
On the other hand, Pintrada aced the Remember John "Mother" Hubbard Handicap narrowly by a margin of a short-head over the Tim Easterby trained, King of the Celts.
It will be exciting to see Maarek and Graham Lee take on rivals together, and if they break out of the gate swiftly, there is not telling that they might finish on the top of the pile at the end of it.
