The Giallorossi shot-stopper is enjoying his stay at Stadio Olimpico Roma, and targets silverware with Luis Enrique’s side

Stekelenburg moved to Stadio Olimpico Rome from the Dutch side in the summer transfer window for approximately six million Euros. The shot-stopper insisted that he is loving his time at Rome, and is looking to remain here for the rest of his playing career.
The shot-stopper insisted that he joined Luis Enrique’s side to win trophies, and this is the main objective of him playing the game. The Dutchman has been the first-choice goalkeeper in the Giallorossi setup, and has been impressive in the goal. He has made 13 appearances for Roma so far.
While talking to the reporters, Stekelenburg reflected,
“My experience at Roma has been fantastic so far. Winning honours here at Roma is my only objective and this is the motive why I play football in the first place.”
The 29-year-old is delighted with the performances of his team in the ongoing season thus far, and insists that the club is moving in the right direction. Stekelenburg insisted that the team had some issues settling under the new philosophy, but they have started moving in the right direction.
“We had a few issues as the start of the season because there were so many new players who had to settle. We are doing well right now though which shows just how much we have improved.”

Enrique was under immense pressure after the early exit from the UEFA Europa League and back-to-back defeats in the Serie A. However, the Giallorossi have enjoyed an impressive recent form of late, and are placed 7th in the league table. The capital club have picked up four successive wins in the league.
