Maath Gool to score through his second start in the CBD World Mastercard at Meydan on 3rd March
The CBD World Mastercard (Handicap) (Tapeta) is to be staged at Meydan over a mile on Saturday, 3rd March. The race with £7, 742 purse has a lineup of fourteen runners set to compete today.
Maath Gool, Dubawi’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare My First Romance, raced on 21st January after nearly thirteen months and finishing third on the lineup of fourteen was nothing less than an accomplishment.
On 21st January, Maath Gool was placed third in the SMKA – MK by Honeywell (Handicap) (Tapeta) at Meydan over seven furlongs. Al Muhairi trained Maath Gool finished third against the 4/1 favourite for the race, Rutland Boy. He had a 2 ¾ lengths’
edge on the field of fourteen racing.
Qualifying for the race second was Daboos with Richard Hills onboard.
Before this, Maath Gool had raced thrice during the 2010 season with winning once and losing upon the remaining races.
Maath Gool won the Meydan “Shiba” (Maiden) (Tapeta) on 2nd December at Meydan. With Wayne Smith onboard, Maath Gool led the track by 3 ¼ lengths on a field of fourteen racing.
If Maath Gool will be successful in improving during the second start of the season instead of taking up the second or third position will come forth soon.
An entry that is equally competent and is going to challenge Maath Gool in racing through the wire is Rutland Boy, Bertolini’s four-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare Israar.
He was second in the Longines Conquest Collection (Handicap) (Tapeta) on 6th January at Meydan over six furlongs. The race was won by S. Seemar trained Lord Tiger who led the field by 2 ¾ lengths. Rutland Boy was riding with Mickael Barzalona
and took up the runner up’s slot.
He was soon followed by Wadi Wanderer who finished third.
Rutland Boy did not wait for long to post a victory as he won the SMKA – MK by Honeywell (Handicap) (Tapeta) on 21st January at Meydan.
The 4/1 favourite of the race was 2 ¾ lengths adrift on the field of fourteen.
Rutland Boy and Maath Gool will encounter each other today but who gets to dominate the field will be out in the open soon.
