We could just make it last longer I guess.I mean,we cant `save it' because everyone is always going to use energy;the only way to `save the earth' would be that everyone was to stop using energy all together, whitch is never going to hapen in this high-tech world! using less energy is going to slow don climate change but if we always use energy(regardless of how mutch) I guess it will destroy someday.what do you think?

  1. I think you are missing a very important concept.

Our use of energy is NOT the issue.  It's our use of hydrocarbons (oil, natural gas, propane, etc...).  These types of fuels are non-renewable.  There are PLENTY of other ways to get energy.

This whole debate boils down to huge energy corporations that sell the consumers a type of product that is unhealthy for the planet, and in the end, for mankind.  Oil and gasoline have been easy to produce, and the petroleum companies have made hundreds of billions of dollars from it over the last 100 years.  Now things have changed.  The price keeps going up, we are running low, and we MUST look into changing our ways.  Wind energy, nuclear energy, solar energy....these are all viable options.

In the past, we didn't use these energy sources because oil was cheaper.  However, this is changing.  It's time to come up with some alternative energy sources.  They are out there.

  2. I think ...

It's not the planet we need to save, it's ourselves.

The planet will take care of itself (and maybe us too).

    That's what it does.

Climate change is part of a natural process.

What we've done to the planet is not.

If we have sped up this process, nature will do what it must.

It has no political agenda and needs no approval.

So between us and nature, who do you suppose will win?

I'm just glad we're living in a warm cycle and not an ice age.

  3. that's tru.

  4. Don't worry-- the world isn't going to end any time soon. No, our CO2 emissions don't help, but global warming isn't entirely caused by mankind. Every 100,000 years or so, the earth enters into an ice age, with a 20,000 year reprieve. If I remember correctly, we're around year 15,000 or 17,000. So currently, we are in a "warming" period.

This next theory is my own, and based off of fact, but the idea that gas emissions caused global warming is a little on the ridiculous side. Yes, deforestation is the top contributer, but with gases such as CO2 filling up our atmosphere, it would actually reflect sunlight, causing the earth to cool, supporting the argument that we are in a temporary reprieve from an ice age.

  5. The world is going to die eventually. But I highly doubt any time soon.
