Mac Aeda set to shine at Doncaster – Grimthorpe Chase Preview
Malcolm Jefferson’s brilliant gelding, Mac Aeda, will demonstrate a big run at Doncaster racecourse today, March 3 and come up with a glaring victory in ‘Download William Hill From The App-Store Grimthorpe Chase’ which is scheduled to start at 3:25 (GMT).
The Class 2 race of 3m2f distance has mammoth prize money worth £29,241.
Mac Aeda will compete against half a dozen rivals including Benny Be Good, Junior, West End Rocker, Neptune Equester, Ikorodu Road and Pentiffic.
Mac Aeda has been enjoying great form for last three months. After grabbing a big triumph in December 2011, he finished second in a race at Wetherby on January 23.
The spectacular runner went on to win a mega race with a margin of 3 ¼ lengths at the same track on February 21.
As a whole, the gelding has won 4 out of his total 14 starts to date. His victories include 2 Chase and 1 NHF and Hurdle each.
Mac Aeda started his career with a splendid success on May 17, 2009 at Market Rasen. He ran at Doncaster for two times during January-March 2011.
The Mr & Mrs J M Davenport-owned young runner has earned £16,712 so far. This colossal earning is an evidence of his inherent skills and talent.
Mac Aeda is supposed to capitalise properly on his fresh form and turn the tables at Doncaster today.  If he manages to maintain his momentum, success will surely bend on him.
Among Mac Aeda’s opponents, West End Rocker and Benny Be Good are tough enough.
West End Rocker boosted up his morale greatly by finishing first in his last outing on December 3, 2011. Prior to this, the champion trainer Alan King’s gelding had four victories to his credit.
As a whole, the veteran runner has won 6 races including 4 Chase and 1 Hurdle and PTP each.
Benny Be Good registered a marvellous hat-trick during April-September 2011. He finished fourth in his second last race on January 27, 2012. Overall, the Keith Reveley-trained gelding has bagged 7 wins.
Except this trio, the other four runners also possess enough talent. Thus, Grimthorpe Chase is expected to be an awe-inspiring competition. Mac Aeda will have to sail through turbulent waters to reach the finish line first.
