Mac Liquidlast Liner?

I got a Mac Liquidlast liner about a year ago, and I have used it maybe once or twice, and I just read that you should throw it away after 2-3 months! I am so upset, since I've had it and it looks fine.....IS that true? Or can I continue using it now that I know that it won't last forever?

they say that because anything that can come into contact with your face or hands picks up your body's natural oil's and can also become contaminated with airborn or bodily bacteria which will grow in the eyeliner container.. if it has an odor other than the scent of when you first bought it, throw it away asap or you could become ill with an eye infection from the tube's harvested bacteria coming in contact with your eye.

I bought one too, I doubt... I don't think it's true.
