My .Mac mail has been down since sometime last night while they are putting up "Mobileme" but I was curious what that even means...... I use Mac mail from a Windows running laptop but I love the mail so I bought the subscription. I have no interested in MobileMe at all. I just want to use my regular Mac mail but everytime I open the page it says "This service is temporarily unavailable. We are currently performing scheduled maintenance. "

Does anyone know if this is normal? Will Mac Mail not be available as it is normally? Someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Mac is currently doing maintenance but service will be restore at 12 midnight PT. My problem is accessing email which I know can be done from desktop application but I don't know how to do that.

  2. It's actually been over 24 hours since I first noticed the message. I'm really frustrated as I'm on location, I desperately need to get a phone number out of an email and my laptop battery is dead so I can't access the mail program on my mac. The only way I see that I can get into it is via the web-based program.

I understand maintenence but for over 24 hours? This is really getting ridiculous. Anyone have a clue on when it will be back up?

  3. .mac is transitioning to MobileMe.

Unfortunately, Apple hit a snag and are trying to resolve it. Been fifteen hours since.

The only way to get to your mail is if you use an email program like Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc.
