Question:

Mac OS/Browser = blog problems?

I have a Mac OS X and I use the safari browser. Every time I go to update my blog it says that due to the browser/OS I have I can not use the advanced editor. I thought if I changed the browser it would work so I downloaded Firefox instead of Safari. I had the same problem. If the problem is my OS what can I do about it if I have a MAC? Thanks!

  1. You need to mention which Website is giving you this grief. It will help us a lot to know this. Otherwise, we can make some suggestions.

Is this a message about the browser or the OS or a belt-and-suspenders-rejection? If this goofball Website is rejecting you because you use Mac OS X, they are being petty. For that matter, if they reject you because you use Safari, they are being petty. Your best option is to move your blog to a normal blog server such as Blogspot or LiveJournal. This Website, no matter how cool it may be, needs your firm rejection of their Dark Ages mentality. If enough people turn away from them and send comments to the management (not the Webmaster, as it is probably he who has chosen this policy), they will mend their ways. Otherwise they feel encouraged to keep on being narrow-minded.

If you can't bear to make the change, install User Agent Switcher in Firefox and set it to "Internet Explorer 7 (Windows Vista)". That should send them off your trail and keep them in the dark. Link is below.
