what is that hook for that is on the box part? like it opens opposite of the side where the extension is

  1. It is for the cable that goes from the inverter (the box) to your laptop.  You open them then wind up your cable and snap the little thing to the cable.  If you dont understand what i mean, wind the cable up and you will see.  Very handy though
