hey i need help i have a terrible netgear DG834 router that doesnt work well on my computer. I also have airport, but that doesnt work well either. I'm getting tired of looking at reviews, what is a good router that would work well for macs (and maybe the wii as well)? I have the most recent mac.

  1. I'm with BT's network and got a router from them. My macs and pc work great.

  2. D-Link or Linksys will work great, just don't forget to update the firmware on the router it fixes a lot of problems.

Personally I prefer Linksys because it is a division of CISCO systems which is a company that makes big expensive routers(industrial)

p.s. ANY router will work with mac/windows/linux/unix because they are based off the TCP/IP protocol

  3. Apple makes a really good Wireless "N" router that will give you good speeds and will work with the wii as well. (most will) Its more expensive tho so if you want a good alternative, I reccomend the linksys WRT54G. It is compatible with most all gaming systems and computers, even Mac!

  4. Get any linksys router

  5. I have an Airport Extreme.  No problems at all.  Very easy to setup.  Also, if you have a new Mac, you can turn on the 802.11N and get good WiFi speeds.

If you want to use Time Machine on your Mac, you can get the new router called Time Capsule with the 500gb HD for back ups and secondary storage.  Also, I have a Wii and it doesnt even miss a beat with my Airport Extreme.
