I'm trying to decide on a sound editor for my new computer. I used to use Soundforge which I absolutely loved since it gave me mostly what I needed, but now I've moved to a Mac which is supposed to be awesome for stuff like this, but I can't find any good programs... Any suggestions?

  1. Garage Band

  2. If you're into pro-level audio editing you really should be using a PC, ideally a quad-core using a pro-level audio card. If what you want is a simple but effective sound editor for basic tasks then you should try Audacity, an open-source editor that produces versions for both Windows and OSX... here's a link from the apple site -

The only pro audio software i know that can run properly on a Mac is Sonar 7 (www.cakewalk.com) but you need to run it on Windows using Boot Camp.

  3. I take it you are into producing Music - in my opinion Macs are not as good as PC's (Quad Core for Stability) you can get a great new one for £280-00 on Ebay - MAC's  are overpriced - they keep updating the operating system at extra cost  - the software is horrendously priced  and drivers are not always available - we run a commercial studio where we use soundforge cubase & reason which runs completely efficiently - we have released albums on Itunes - if we can help any more please look at our websites  hope it helps cheers tom
