MacBook 13". Partition failed with the errir "input, output error". Anyone had this problem before?

Question

I installed new internal drive, its recognized so seems fine but when I tried to partition it, I got the message "Partition failed with the error message, input/output error". Anyone know what that could be or how to fix it?

Have you tried formatting it in disk utility and trying the partition again. Also make sure you use disk utility if you haven't its the best.
