Question:

MacBook and Analogue Video Problem?

by  |  earlier

I have a macbook. I also have 8mm video that I would like to make digital. On my PC, I used to have a capturing device, and so recording the video onto my computer was no problem. However, now that I have a Mac, I'm not sure how to do this. I've looked, but I cannot find a capturing device. (I do still have the video camera as well...)

Please help! My childhood videos are going to be lost!!!

Thank You!

  1. The best analog/digita bridge to use with any computer with a firewire port (Mac or Windows based) are those from Canopus:

    I suggest either the ADVC110 or ADVC300.

Connect the camcorder to the AV cable it cam with. Connect the other end of the AV cable to the A/D bridge. Connect the A/D bridge to the firewire port on the Mac.

Launch iMovie. Hit play on the camcorder; hit Import on iMovie.
