MacGill wants to see some fight from timid India at Perth - Cricket News Update
Former Australian spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Charles-Glyndwr-MacGill-c91433, is surprised by the below par performance of a formidable India side in the ongoing Test series against Australia so far, and has urged the tourists to show some fight in the remaining two matches to regain a bit
of their lost pride.
Having lost the first two games of the four-match series quite cheaply, MS Dhoni’s star studded India trail Kangaroos 0-2. The formidable Indian line up, except Tendulkar, looked totally out of sorts against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 attack
in the four innings played so far - something that left MacGill shocked.
The 40-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 leg=spinner agreed that the Australian bowlers were outstanding at Melbourne and Sydney; however, the Indian surrender was not at all acceptable for him.
"We have bowled very well but I am very disappointed that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 collapse very quickly," said MacGill speaking to the media. "I think whether it is the middle order or tail you need to have some pride," he added further.
India lost the series opener at Melbourne Cricket Ground by 122 runs and faced an innings and 68 run humiliation in the second Test played in Sydney.
The third Test of the series will be played at the pace-friendly WACA track on Friday and the former Aussie leg-spinner would not be surprised if the hosts opted to field an all-pace attack. The curators have promised a bouncy wicket similar to the one used
for Ashes last year, when the hosts played a four-pronged pace attack and finished the match in four days.
"I would have no hesitation picking four or five quicks for a Test and no spin bowler if that was the way to go,” said MacGill. “I think in the Test environment you pick the best bowlers you consider most likely to take you 20 wickets. If those bowlers are
all seamers you have to pick them," he further added.
If Australia fields an all-pace attack at Perth, then it would include http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Michael-Lyon-c78822).
