Macau Open Badminton GP Gold: Lindaweni Fanetri ousts Ying Chun Lin in Women’s Singles first round
Indonesia’s elite player Lindaweni Fanetri lived up to the expectations and reached into Women’s Singles second round after beating Chinese Taipei’s Ying Chun Ling in first round battle at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 on Wednesday, November 28,
in Macau.
The in-form Fanetri, who has been showing her elevated class in the recent tournaments, worked hard in the arena to prove her worth and remained successful in showing exit to Ying Chun by consuming 31 minutes on court.
Indonesian shuttler displayed her aggressive skills and managed to win the first game with a tight margin. However, she easily won the second set to end up the battle in straight games with a decent total.
In the meanwhile, Ying Chun employed all of her skills to stop the progress of her Indonesian challenger but she failed to perform well when it mattered most and eventually lost the match with a reasonable margin on the board.
Fanetri showed an amazing aggression on court from the opening points of first set and she easily created a remarkable pressure on her Taipei rival.
Indonesian lady was quite comfortable in taking the bird timely from all corners of the arena and easily executed her well directed shots in right areas.
However, the Taipei shuttler also played well and remained toe-to-toe against Fanetri until the mid-game break when both shuttlers were close on the board.
After the break, the battle progressed in the similar thrilling fashion but Fanetri started to play with precision and managed to create a small gap in the concluding points.
Fanetri controlled her nerves in the ending points and managed to snatch the first game with a close 21-19 score on the board.
However it was a smooth ride for Fanetri in the second game when she played with confidence and precision and took a wonderful lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Indonesian shuttler did not let her challenger to get close at any stage by keeping the pace at the highest level and bagged the set with a wonderful margin of 21-14.
Fanetri emerged as victorious against Ying Chun in this Women’s Singles first round clash with a convincing 21-19 and 21-14 score on the board.
