Macau Open Grand Prix: Parupalli Kashyap overpowers Chan Yan Kit in Men’s Singles second round
India’s in-from young shuttler, Parupalli Kashyap proves his worth as he has overpowered Hong Kong’s Chan Yan Kit in the Men’s Singles second round of the 2011 Macau Open Grand Prix, in Macau, on Wednesday, November 30.
Kashyap has been playing well in all international tournaments for the last 10 months of the current year. He has attained wonderful skills to tackle the elite shuttlers and has occupied the 29th spot in the Men’s Singles world standings. He played
well against Yan Kit and won the battle in three games by consuming 56 minutes in the court.
It was a mouth-watering fight in the opening set of the game when both men snapped each other’s heels by playing at their best. However, Kashyap remained successful in taking the game with a narrow margin. Yan Kit played incredible badminton in the second
set and won it to level the score. In the deciding game, the Indian played with wonderful precision and took the game with a comfortable score.
The start of the first set was impressive when both shuttlers played at the same speed. They progressed in the game by remaining close throughout the opening set. The score reached at the breath-taking stage of 24-24, when Kashyap took two consecutive points
to finish the set with a margin of 26-24.
In the second set, Yan Kit changed his style of play and became fast at the net to put pressure on his higher ranked challenger. The Indian failed to continue his winning streak in the second set of the match and lost it without any considerable fight by
a margin of 14-21.
In the final game, Kashyap entered into the court with an aggressive approach as he spared no room for the Hong Kong shuttler in the whole set. Yan Kit tried his best to dominate the rallies but his opponent was clever in his shot selection and execution.
Kashyap played with variations and took the set with a 21-15 margin.
The Indian bagged victory in this Men’s Singles second round battle in 56 minutes by a margin of 26-24, 14-21 and 21-15.
