Macau Open Grand Prix: Taufik Hidayat beats Nan Wei to penetrate in round-of-16 – Badminton news
Indonesia’s Taufik Hidayat proved his superior skills as he has penetrated into the round-of-16 after thrashing Hong Kong’s Nan Wei in the Men’s Doubles second round of the Macau Open Grand Prix, on Wednesday, November 30.
The world number nine Taufik has been struggling hard to win a major event for the last six months. He desperately needs to win a title before the 2012 London Olympics. In the second round contest of the Macau Open, the Indonesian put up strong show of quality
badminton and finished the match in straight games by taking just 34 minutes in the court.
In the first game of the match, the Indonesian played to his full potential and finished up the game with an impressive margin. However the second game was quite close as both shuttlers played at the similar speed. Taufik remained lucky in the end as he
score the winning points to take the game with a narrow difference.
The match started in a thrilling was as Nan played with aggression while Taufik remained in his usual calm style. He played with impressive precision against the Hong Kong challenger and maintained pressure in the whole game. The Indonesian faced no trouble
at all in finishing up the second game with a wonderful score of 21-13 by taking just 14 minutes in the court.
In the second set of this Men’s Singles fight was absolutely mouth-watering when both shuttlers put up tremendous show of attacking and positive badminton. Both controlled the pace with a superb skill and reached at the crucial stage at the concluding points.
Both shuttlers tried to earn the winning points but it was Taufik who remained successful in taking the second game with tight margin of 21-19 in 20 minutes.

Nan failed to match the speed and accuracy of Taufik, who is the former World and Olympic Champion. The Indonesian finished the match with a superb score of 21-13 and 21-19 by consuming just 34 minutes in the court.
In the round-of-16, Taufik will take on China’s young and passionate shuttler Chen Yuekun, who ousted Hu Yun of Hong Kong in the second round.
