1. If you have experience with large birds, I'd recommend a hand fed, hand raised Blue and Gold macaw and if you have no experience with large birds, a Hahn' or another breed of mini macaw would be a better choice.

If you have no experience with parrots I'd suggest a hand fed, hand raised baby lovebird to start.

  2. I'm partial to Scarlet's, personally - but I also like the hybrid scarlet's and blue and golds :)

  3. blues and golds r pretty good but i think the mini macaws r soooo cute.i love em u should get them.

  4. I think you should get a mini macaw, preferably a severe macaw. These little guys are absolutely adorable.

  5. DO NOT GET A LOVE BIRD!!!! They are small and inexpensive and pretty but they are also incorrigible.!

I have a B&G Macaw, a scarlet Macaw, an african Grey, and a love bird and spend a great deal of time with each.

The love bird bites the most often and the most unpredictably. My love bird has been hand raised and fed and will be all sweet and playing with you one second and turn and chomp on you the next.

I really recomend the blue and golds if you want a big bird but if you want smaller go for one of the conures (I like the sun conures) or a caique.
