  1. The witches represent the dark powers that have the capacity to influence men's decisions, and they are a representation of Macbeth's inner evil. The darkness itself  symbolizes the darkness in Macbeth's heart and the evil nature of his horrible deeds.

    The play in the play is both real and imaginary. Blood can represent life and death. Shakespeare uses blood to represent treason, guilt, murder and death.  The sleeping walking scene with Lady Macbeth shows the most vivid example of guilt.
