witch laptop should I buy

I want to spend anywhere from

I will be using my Laptop for Photo-Editing, Watching Movies, Multi-Tasking (like watching movie or T.V while Internet browsing/editing) I will also be using it for school, like writing down assignments etc. and our school uses macs so i could transfer my stuff easy

Definitely a Mac!!!  I have owned one for many years and they don't break down ever, very, very reliable.  Macs also have one of the greatest Operating Systems of all time which is Mac OS X, all the other computers have Windows Vista which is very unreliable.

1.  You want photo editing, well all Macs come preloaded with the iLife suite which contains iPhoto, one of the best photo editing software packages out there.  Plus if you want you can buy Photoshop or Aperture 2 which is one of the leading standards in the world for photo editing.

2.  You want to watch movies, well all Macs have DVD Player on them, an advanced dvd player with loads of on-screen controls. You can also shrink the window so you can web brows and watch a movie simultaneously.  Also Macs have no viruses so you are safe to go anywhere on the web and not worry.

3.  You want to write down assignments, well all Macs have iCal preloaded which you can use to mark when assignments are due and what time etc.

If you want to buy a Mac you can get Microsoft Office 2008 or    iWork '08 which are both splendid application suites.

According to your needs and to my personal tastes, this is how it'd go:

Dell, HP, Acer, Vaio, Macbook, Asus, Gateway.

But that depends on what model you want from each brand, and if money weren't an issue.

Well i also looked at all of these when i wanted a laptop.I went with a sony Viao vgn-cr510e i dont a lot of photo edititng but so far i have been very pleased with my Viao!! The mac compatibility im not sure on but im not a big fan of mac
