Question:

Macbook Pro and the AppleCare Box?

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro and the 3 years AppleCare protection plan. But the guy who assisted me did not give me the AppleCare box. The small white one with the red apple on it. Is the box necessary to get my 3 year warranty and acquire the benefits of the AppleCare protection plan? I still have my receipt that shows i bought AppleCare. Should I call Apple? The guy told me that I was already "registered" when i asked for the box.. But I'm wondering why he did not give it to me.. Did he steal it? =O

Thanks!

  1. That is kind of weird.  But you don't NEED the box.

If you have the receipt for your AppleCare and the serial number for your computer (maybe the receipt too) call Apple Care.  1-800-275-2273 - (1-800-APL-CARE).   It should also be on your receipt.

You can check with them that your warranty is activated.  They can do this with the Apple Care number and your serial code -they can also look up the receipt if you have the receipt number.  I had to do this because I lost my box.

You really don't need the box at all - but I would double check that you do indeed have Apple Care activated.  If you don't - they will activate it for you.
