  1. Macedonia is the same as "FYR Macedonia," "FYROM" or "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia."

    There is a region in greece called Aegean Macedonia, which was stolen from Macedonia in the 1800s.
    What many people fail to realise,  is that Alexander the Great and his father, Philip are Macedonian, decendants of the Macedonians in the Republic.
