The Manchester United striker reveals that he flew to Rome to watch the Biancazzurri in the Derby della Capitale; delighted to see his team win.
Manchester United striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Federico-Macheda-c13475, has revealed that he made a one night trip to Rome to see his boyhood heroes, Lazio, play in the Derby della Capitale.
The Biancocelesti emerged victorious by a 2-1 margin against local rivals, AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, on Sunday, March 4. Macheda has hailed Lazio’s emphatic double over Luis Enrique’s side, and insists that “It was totally worth it.”
The Italian Under-21 international revealed that his cousin made arrangements for his trip to Stadio Olimpico Rome, and he is thankful to him for making him sit among the Curva Nord on Sunday.
While talking to the reporters, Macheda said:
“I decided on Thursday to come to Rome so I could see the game live, once I was certain I’d have the day to rest from training. Thanks to help from my cousin, I was able to get a ticket in the Curva Nord. I arrived on Sunday morning
and flew back the day after, as I really couldn’t miss this appointment. At the end of the day, I can safely say it was totally worth it!”
Macheda has hailed the progress Lazio have made this season, and the striker wants to see the capital side progress to the UEFA Champions League next season.
“Having come so far, it’s only right that Lazio now qualify for the Champions League. It’s true Serie A is very difficult and anything can still happen, but I think the team deserves this achievement.”
The 20-year-old emerged from the youth setup of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 for the remainder
of the season.
Macheda has repeatedly expressed his desire of representing the Biancazzurri one day. He spent half of the last season on-loan at Sampdoria, but failed to make a mark at the club, which got relegated at the end of the season.
