Machine stops after 2-3 stitches

Question

I have a Necchi 3537 sewing machine. When I press on the foot pedal it will stitch 2-3 stitches and then stop. Each time I press on the foot pedal I get the same response. I used it just 3 days ago and it was working fine. Do you think it needs oil or what else may be wrong?
