  1. Yes it is worth the money.   The terrain is mountainous but that is to be expected in the mountains.  It is a very exciting experience.  You an hike the inca trail to get there but that will take days and you need porters to carry your stuff.  Better to take the train from Cusco and stay in the town of Machu Picu and then take the bus to the ancient site.  Once you get there you will be doing some climbing, stairs mostly but the city is put up on a mountain in tiers so you do have to go up and up and up to see it all.  the views are like nothing on earth and there are places that definatly have power in them.  Get a guided tour for the best value and the best info about what you are seeing.  I just got home and it was the trip of a lifetime.

A few important things.  Bring baby wipes and hand santizer  toilet paper is not always available and sometimes toilets are not available.  When you get to Cusco take time out to rest and move slowly at first so that your body can adjust to the altitude, and most importantly, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. I mean that do not even brush your teeth with it or let any get into your mouth by accident  no ice and always remember to wipe any melt water off of cold cans or bottles before you drink.  No salads and no fruit that you do not peel yourself.  One member of our group spent 4 days in the hospital so do not take this warning lightly.  It is a wonderful, magical place, if you ever have a chance to go, do it, you will not be sorry.

  2. It is not only llamas and mountains! It's a cultural/historic place with lots of ruins and history behind it. Machu Picchu was the capital of the Inca Empire and apart from a breathtaking scenary you'll find history at every corner. But apart from that, Cuzco has become quite a cosmpolite city in the sense that there are absolutely the greates shops in alpaca and silverware. There are many museums and bars, and discos and pubs and restaurante and especially lots of tourists who go there in search of adventure and culture. The Inca trail trek runs through the whole year except rainny season which is from Juanuary till March aprox. And yes, it is worth the money.

  3. Such and ignorant question...is it worth the money??? What do you think? It's one of the worlds best historical places dude!!!!
