Question:

Mackay to Cairns?

i'm going to be in mackay in august and wanna drive up to cairns.can anyone help me with the following?

-what kind of weather should i expect?

-any towns in between that i MUST see?

-how many hours driving from one to the other if i wanted to do it NON STOP?

-what about recommended beaches/islands?i know all of them are gorgeous,but i don;t have much time available...

-talking about time,i have only 15 days.is it enough to see a bit of queensland?

  1. *Warm and dry

    *Townsville in order to see Magnetic Island and Airlie Beach in order to sail in the Whitsundays.

    *I am guessing it is about 400 miles(700kms)-8 hours drive but dont quote me on that.

    *Magnetic Island and the Whitsundays as above

    *Yes it is better than nothing
