Mackenzie hall debt collection?

Hi guys wondered if anyone could help with this, today my dad recieved a letter from mackenzie hall saying that he owed money to a company called granada who was something like power house were you rent appliances, now the thing is he did rent but the account with them was settled, this was about 9 maybe 10 years ago, i wondered if it is legal that they are chasing him after all this time and if by law he has to pay anything.

any input would be great also if anyone has had any dealings with them it would be helpful to hear your experiances

If it was 9 or 10 years ago, he needs to write them a cease communications letter.  they can't really do much, it's past the SOL.
