Maclin Davis clinches Men’s 100m butterfly gold – Junior Pan Pacific Championships
Maclin Davis of USA clinched gold medal of the Men’s 100m butterfly on third day of the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, August 25.
Davis stunned the aquatic crowd with his astonishing efforts in the 100m discipline. He made his way into the final as second fastest swimmer, but with his unrelenting efforts, he managed to outsmart Davis over the finishing wall for gold medal.
He continued his nerve-wrecking form throughout the discipline and made his way to the medal rostrum for gold medal by producing a time of 52.89 seconds.
Davis was followed by Daiya Seto of Japan, who stayed 0.34 seconds behind and occupied silver medal of the discipline by reporting a time of 53.23 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Matt Ellis of USA, who stayed 0.36 seconds behind and snared bronze medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 53.59 seconds.
Ellis was trailed by Kenta Hirai of Japan, who stayed 0.13 seconds slower from his preceding swimmer and tapped the wall for fourth position with a timing of 53.72 seconds.
Hirai was traced by David Morgan of Australia, who remained nearly half body length slower from his former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 54.11 seconds.
Subsequently, Morgan enjoyed an advantage of Hugo Morris of Australia, who remained 0.24 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and proved his eligibility for sixth finest spot of the event by clocking a time of 54.35 seconds.
Morris faced exhausting efforts of Edward Liu of Canada, who stayed 0.49 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end as seventh fastest swimmer with a timing of 54.84 seconds.
Afterwards, the arena witnessed sluggish efforts of Canada’s Brayden Salmon, who failed to spoil the party of any of his opponents and ended eighth in the race. Salmon remained 0.50 seconds slower from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing blockade as eighth position holder with an effort of 55.34 seconds.
In addition, Davis was happy with his gold winning achievement and raked his award at the medal ceremony of the event.
