Maddie Johnson grabs Girls 100 yard butterfly title: 2011 High School State Championships, Redding
The 2011 High School State Championships saw impressive swims of Maddie Johnson and DJ Tice in Redding, California. The results of the NSCIF Masters were launched online, on Thursday, November 3. Johnson went on to win the Girls 100 yard butterfly title,
while DJ Tice earned Boys 100 yard butterfly crown.
In the Girls 100 yard butterfly final heat, Maddie Johnson knocked out Molly Bateman and Elizabeth Keane by hitting the finishing barrier in a fastest mark of 1 minute and 00.88 seconds. Meanwhile, Bateman earned second position by submitting a time of 1
minute and 01.13 seconds and Keane settled at third place in a mark of 1 minute and 03.85 seconds, respectively.
Meanwhile, Maddie Gray touched the finishing fence by submitting an impressive time of 1 minute and 04.52 seconds and Veronica Foley picked fifth spot by hitting the finishing mark in a time of 1 minute and 04.53 seconds. Annabelle Hopkins earned sixth position
in a spot of 1 minute and 05.24 seconds, whereas, Katie Knoch claimed seventh position by touching the finishing blocks in 1 minute and 08.24 seconds. Last, but not the least, eighth place honours went to Rachel Kling in a time of 1 minute and 08.46 seconds.
DJ Tice claimed the Boys 100 yard butterfly title by hitting the finishing fence in a nerve wrecking time of 55.09 seconds, while Steven Jordan pocketed second spot by submitting a matchless time of 55.61 seconds. Teddy Crete earned third place honours by
touching the finishing wall in a mark of 56.10 seconds, whereas, Theo Workman settled fourth in a time of 58.42 seconds.
Dom Soderstrom posted a unique time of 58.54 seconds to settle at fifth spot, while Cormac Hotmer earned sixth position by claiming the finishing fence in a time of 58.83 seconds. Moreover, Joe Lyon earned seventh position by submitting a time of 59.33 seconds
and Noah Parham settled at eighth place in a spot of 1 minute and 00.57 seconds.
James Williams and Caleb McGowan earned ninth and tenth positions by thrashing the finishing blockade in a time of 1 minute and 01.48 seconds and 1 minute and 01.64 seconds, respectively.
