I'm really happy for Maddux. As a Cubs fan, I wish nothing but the best for him. At least now he gets to contend and now I really hope the Dodgers beat out the D-Backs.

  1. OMG. i so did not know that. I was just saying to by brother that Maddox is a good pitcher stuck on a bad team. Strange timing, but the Dodgers are obviously pulling out all the stops to make it to the post season this year. First Torre, then Manny now Maddux.

Who did they have to give up for this guy?

Well I hope that it pays off for the Dodgers. They are so close to winning this division. Hopefully this will put them that one inch ahead and win it.

  2. It's another huge acquisition for the L.A Dodgers, which is exactly what we needed for our 4th or 5th starter. We already have Derek Lowe, Chad Billingsley, Hiroki Kuroda, and the young Clayton Kershaw with the nastiest curveball in baseball.

After Brad Penny became officially gone for the season and Jason Smidth still unable to throw the ball, I knew we needed help. Adding a veteran future Hall of Famer like Greg Maddux will solidify our starting pitching staff and even help our bullpen. He may not be what he was in his Cy Young years but he can still keep the team in the game and happen to be the smartest pitcher in baseball who can bring a positive effect in the clubhouse.

According to some online websites, the Dodgers are most likely to give up someone who have been placed on waivers but it's still not clear on who yet. Hopefully, it's no one we can use though.

  3. where did you hear this.

cuz its not on the dodgers website

  4. Great!  That means another two days of questions like "How can the Dodgers trade for Greg Maddux if the trading deadline already passed?"

  5. he sucks

  6. As a SD Padres fan, I am actually glad to see Maddux get out of San Diego because all his quality starts were going to waste with our lackluster offense. Im pissed he went with the Dodgers cause they don't need any more ammunition to run their mouths, but in the end good for the Professor.

  7. he did i didnt know but cool

  8. The trade is on the Padres website.Maddux is the best pitcher of his generation, but his best days are behind him.He doesn't get the off the plate outside strike any longer and that is where he was unhittable. It's nice for him to go to a team contending for the division, but even if they make the playoffs the Dodgers aren't going anywhere.

  9. Not a bad deal by the Dodgers. Another veteran arm for the playoffs.

  10. yeah i just herad that on espn a couple of hours ago

  11. I think it is a good trade for the Dodgers becuase Penny is out, he is solid pitcher and could mentor young Clayton Kershaw.
