Why does the media persist in giving coverage to stories after all this time that Maddie has been seen at various locations.

Is it not illogical to think that if she is still alive that people would walk around in public with her, especially if she still looked as she did the night she disappeared.

For some mystery reason, the British newspapers would rather make a song and dance about year-old "sightings" than draw attention to more significant details in the PJ reports.

These include the impossible "timings" of the Tapas 7 on May 3,

the mystery of the phone calls of that night, the pressures by British polticians and diplomats from midnight on May 3, the peculiar fact of what Russell O'Brien "didn't see" that evening, the smell of a dead body in the apartment, on Kate McCann's clothes etc,  the finding of spots of blood in the apartment...and much more.

No wonder Mitchell, the spokesman, wants a fuss made about old and long-disproved sightings!

Why the British press goes along with it is another mystery.

Who are they covering up for?

It's illogical and implausible, certainly, but they don't care as long as it sells papers.

Some of the nonsense about grand kidnap conspiracies involving paedophile rings also seems implausible (and comes from questionable sources) - but again, it sells papers.

The tabloids seem to be at Clarence Mitchell's beck and call. Everything they publish seems to be aimed at discrediting the Portuguese police investigation and protecting the parents' reputation. Believe me, a lot more incriminating evidence will come to light over the days and weeks to come.

Because they need to keep everyone aware that Maddie is still missing.

She has been missing for over a year now and if the media didn't constantly remind us that she is still missing people would forget, and without a body her parents must still have some hope that she is out there alive.

I personally don't think she is alive, i really hope she is but if i was her parent i would want her picture on the front of every newspaper in the world until she was found.

Kids change and her kidnappers could easily have changed the way she looks (haircut etc). My nephew is exactly the same age as her and looks quite a lot different than last year. People seem to think that every blonde girl is Madeleine which is a waste of time.
