Madeleine McCann sighting, did her parents ever actually call her Maddy?

After reading the newspaper report about the supposed sighting of Madeleine McCain in Holland I'm a bit confused.the witness stated that the child in question said "She called herself Maddy".

I always thought that 'Maddy' was a tabloid tweak (much as James Bulgier was refered to as 'Jamie' )

and that that parents had always called her Madeleine.

If so how likely is this story?

Also would anyone really take her to Amsterdam?

Other reprorts suggest she may have been taken 'to order'.

If anyone took her, surely it was oppurtunistic?

What do you think?

  1. Her parents always called her Madeleine in the news. It always bugged me how everyone on this site always gave her a nickname.

I personally think she's long dead.

  2. stolen to order is for dogs and cars not children

people who want a child can now go for IVF adoption or surragacy now

there are agencies set up where women will have a child for someone at a price

the risk of taking a British child would be too great

its highly unlikely she was abducted as there is no evidence of it whatsoever

  3. Kate said early on that she wished the media would call her Madeleine, because if anyone ever called her Maddy she would say "my name is Madeleine" quite assertively. So the idea of her introducing herself as Maddie doesn't ring true to me.

As far as there being no evidence of abduction, you clearly haven't read much about the case. Madeleine would never have wandered off without Cuddle Cat, and Kate said the reason she knew immediately that someone had taken her was because Cuddle Cat was found on a ledge that was too high for Madeleine to reach.
