Madeley to swing back on form for the Stadium Bookmakers 480 metres Trophy – Heat 2
The most promising entry for the Stadium Bookmakers 480 metres Trophy – Heat 2 is the four-year-old fawn dog, Madeley. His last four outings have been nothing less than consistent as he struck a hat-trick and then scored second in the most recent attempt.
The 480 metres flat race will be contested by Ambleside Al, Salacres William, Ardmayle Driver, Mottos Blue and Delwood Roko on Monday, 23rd July at Nottingham. The winner will get to take home the £125 prize money.
Robbie De Niro’s son won a 305 metres race at Nottingham on 28th January. He was prominent throughout the race after exiting the third and thus timed the track distance in 18.26 seconds and defeated the runner-up, Salacres Nora, by the margin
of 9 ¼ lengths.
The first leg of the most recent hat-trick for Madeley was on 29th June, 2012 in the Grade A1 500 metres flat at Nottingham. Setting into an early pace and then not waiting for long to lead got him the race in 30.48 seconds. He set Highclere Chief
into the second slot while leading by 1 ¼ lengths.
The four-year-old son out of b***h, Lady Leeds, then won the Grade A1 Betfred Kingspin Stakes on 7th July, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres. The favourite entry and winner was quick to monopolise the lead right after taking off from the third
gate. He made it to the other end of the wire in 30.59 seconds and won by the margin of a mere neck.
The runner-up, Highclere Chief, raced for 30.61 seconds.
Third in row success of the A. Stone trained was in the Brandon Seniors Trophy Heat 1 on 12th July, 2012 at Coventry over 485 metres. Even though the four-year-old was slow at the beginning, he led and concluded the race in 29.83 seconds while
winning by the margin of 1 ¼ lengths.
19th July, 2012 saw Madeley ending second in the Brandon Seniors Trophy Final at Conventry over 485 metres. He missed the race by a slight head’s difference and raced for 29.71 seconds.
The four-year-old will need to look out for Ardmayle Driver who has been getting drilled frequently and has won recently too.
